What our customers say
Anna Mitsuoka We have been on hundreds organized trips over the last 10 years, some with hosts and some with host access. In June we did a 10 day golf trip to Ireland with Jack. When I was telling my other golf friends who have done a trip like this and Scotland they asked which hotels (plural) are you staying at? I looked confused and just said the hotel (singular) we stayed at. So to my point on what made this the best trip and experience ever….. - Upon arrival at the airport the driver was waiting for us with names on a sign to drive us 2 hours to Killarney Plaza Hotel. - We never had to move hotels. Jack had a coach bus pick us up everyday to drive us to the golf courses Killarney, Ballybunion Waterville, Old Head, Tralee. - We had dinners as a group which were reservations made by Jack. - Tee times, the “game” for the week was tracked and scored by Jack. - Bus had snacks, adult beverages, plenty of bottled water. - Jack was with us the entire time. The night before he’d be able to make morning massages for anyone who needed one before another great day of golf. Literally we showed up and golfed. There was zero stress about anything. We had a ride back to the airport in plenty of time to do all the airport stuff. I have and will continue to recommend Jack and Halcyon golf travel. I can’t wait to use the company again and to see Jack again and play golf. This was truly the BEST experience I have ever had on a trip! Until next time! Ignacio Yulis Lee (and Halcyon) were super easy to work with, planned our trip to a tee and, we’re always accessible when we needed them. I highly recommend them if you are planning a golf trip to Scotland. Steven Lai Visited England for the first time in my life with two of my best friends and had the greatest golf trip ever. We were able to play six rounds of golf spread over a seven day span at arguably six of the best golf courses in England, Royal Birkdale, Royal Lytham, Royal Liverpool, Walton Heath (Old), Sunningdale (Old) and Royal St. George's. Thanks to Halcyon Golf Travel for securing our tee times and awesome hotel accommodations for a ten night stay split between the Malmaison Liverpool and Bloomsbury Hotel in London. The icing on the cake had to be when Jack Sallis joined us for golf on our first round of our trip, played at Royal Birkdale. His golf tips and various golf and non-golf related stories were very helpful and entertaining. If you are considering a golf trip to England, Scotland or Ireland you should definitely contact Halcyon Golf Travel for their expertise in planning the perfect golf trip! Eric Tom We have taken golfing excursions to Scotland and Ireland, but our week in England playing its top courses was equally if not more memorable than any. Halcyon made it an easy, thoughtless trip for us. It was well-organized and perfectly scheduled, the latter something you do not appreciate until, for a couple of many examples, you are driving contra-flow at a time of day that works out so well or able to get a little more sleep one morning after a long day. We even got restaurant recommendations from Jack! I would highly recommend Halcyon for any of your British Isle trips. We plan to start all over again with Scotland in the near future! michael siegel Exceptional excursion impeccably curated and executed by Halcyon Golf. Three great courses and all travel details perfectly done. Harry Bains Lee and Jack at Halcyon made for a truly epic golf trip to Scotland (Fife and East Lothians). As someone who has typically planned trips myself I did question the use of a third party initially but by the end of the trip I am already thinking about my next trip with these guys! Some highlights: - Very clear agendas and transport timing - Transport always on time and were able to pivot if we needed to change plans. Drivers very personable and friendly - Lee was available on what’s app and given most trips to St Andrews involve ballot attempts for the old course he was available at an instant to modify tee times and shift the schedule - Provided access to Rusacks Hotel which had limited availability to the public Lee personally came up from his home in England and spent the night with us in St Andrews and walked the course at Kingsbarns. Very personal touch and not expected. He was very vested in us having a great trip and nothing came off transactional. Between not having to book any tee times myself and having seamless transport using Halcyon was worth it alone. The courses can be far apart and having on time transport was a key benefit I overlooked. Add in the local recommendations on dining, which courses to play, and extensive organization (using gsheets) is what created a special experience. The money spent was more than made up for by the world class experience! Best golf trip of all time. Rudy Rai Amazing host, great company to make your trip extraordinary! Jack is the best!! Mark Asher First class all the way! An amazing trip to golf in Ireland was made spectacular from every detail taken care of by Jack and Halcyon Golf Travel. If you want your trip to be perfect Jack is your mate! Takuya Davis Jack and his team were exceptional! He was there for our entire trip, both in Northern Ireland and in the South. Couldn't have asked for a more memorable golf trip. Thanks Jack and Halcyon Golf Travel! Paul My recent experience with Halcyon Golf Travel was first rate! From the very beginning of booking the trip, Jack and Lee were both informative and highly responsive. Any question I had was answered within 24 hours, and the materials supplied gave me great confidence long before my trip began. Upon arrival, Lee reached out to insure everything was to our satisfaction and to see if any additional assistance was necessary. The hotel they arranged was clean, comfortable, and very close to the St. Andrews golf courses. It also provided a substantial breakfast--a great way to start the day. They booked early tee times on a variety of courses, which allowed us to also book afternoon tee times. There was no shortage of great golf. The restaurant recommendations were spot on, so we could choose quality experiences from pub food to high-end dining. The arrangement for dinner at 18 in Rusacks Hotel provided an incredible and memorable event. To anyone considering a travel golf holiday in Scotland, Ireland, and/or England, I would strongly recommend using Halcyon Golf Travel services.Load more

England golf course map
For your convenience and to help you plan an epic golf trip to England, we’ve created an interactive google map (England in Red). It contains all of our favourite golf courses as well as popular hotels and places of interest. As you can see, the golf courses are very spread apart however some of the best and most famous golf courses in England are located in regional clusters. The most obvious are the North West coast and just south of London. We recommend picking two regions for a 1 week trip if you want to reduce travel time on your England golf trip. This allows you to play a good mix of world class golf courses and have time to relax and enjoy all the great things England has to offer. However, if you’re on a bucket-list ticking mission we can plan you a customised itinerary to tick off as many courses possible on your England golf tour.

London (within 1 hour)
The “Surrey Sandbelt” to the southwest of London is blessed with some of the most beautiful Heathland courses in the world. Both courses at Sunningdale regularly top world ranking lists and quite rightly so. Intriguing design, outstanding conditions and picturesque settings are typical of golf courses this area but Sunningdale is the pinnacle of inland golf in England. This whole area is blessed with sandy soil composition, perfect for growing fine grasses and firm ground conditions. This makes the courses play similarly to links courses, the main difference is their inland location rather than by the sea. Walton Heath is another famous club in the area, famous for hosting a Ryder Cup and US Open qualifying. St Georges Hill boasts 3 loops of 9 and one of the grandest clubhouses in the world. Hankley common is another beauty and sees you plotting your way around fairways cut into seas of purple (and penal) heather. The Berkshire has 2 courses, the Red course has the exciting layout of 6 par 5’s and 6 par 3’s and don’t forget to stop here for lunch. The famous 3 W’s (Worplesdon, Woking and West Hill) lie within a mile of each other and are as beautiful and enjoyable as each other, but each with their unique quirks. If you’re lucky enough to be invited, The West course at Wentworth is a stern test even for the worlds best players in the BMW PGA Championship which it hosts every year.
Kent
This trio of courses on the Southeast corner of England are a must visit for your first England golf trip. Just 2 hours from London Heathrow and located minutes apart, its a very convenient way of ticking off some bucket list courses. Royal St Georges is the most famous of the three, having hosted 15 Open Championships, most recently in 2021. Known to locals as “Sandwich”, Royal St Georges is very traditional, so make sure to bring a blazer and tie. Oh, and the carvery lunch is an absolute must. Next door lies Royal Cinque Ports, another beautiful track and is actually Halcyon Golf Travel owner Jack’s favourite links course in England, due mainly to its unique and bold green designs. Princes golf club is the last of the trio and like Royal Cinque Ports has also hosted 1 Open Championship in the early 20th century. It boasts 3 nines, all good tests for players of all abilities and like its more famous neighbours shares the same beautiful views of the white cliffs of Dover. Princes has great custom built onsite accommodation, or you can stay in the local (and historic) seaside towns of Deal or Sandwich.
North West England - "The Golf Coast"
England golf tours aren’t complete without a visit to Englands golf coast in the North west. Royal Liverpool welcomes the 2023 Open Championship with some radical changes to the course since Rory Mcilroy last won there in 2014. Completing the trio of Open Courses on this coast are the famous links of Royal Lytham St Annes and of course Royal Birkdale, which require little introduction. These are the obvious three to play if you’re making a quick visit, but you could easily spend a week on this coast. Hillside, Formby, Southport & Ainsdale and West Lancs are all spectacular tests of golf and between them have held dozens of national and international tournaments including The British Masters, The Amateur Championship and Ryder Cup. For a golf trip to Englands golf coast you can either stay in one of a few local seaside towns, or just a short drive away is the bustling city of Liverpool. Rich with history and culture, theres something for everyone in Liverpool from Premier league football to The Beatles.
Midlands and Yorkshire
A less travelled path for golf tours in England but these areas are bursting at the seams with amazing golf courses. Hollinwell in Nottinghamshire has one of the most unique routings in England with every hole totally different to the next; Sandy Lyle, Nick Faldo and Matt Fitzpatrick have all lifted trophies here. Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire is the home of England golf and its Hotchkin course is the best bunkered inland course in England. Heading north you have 2 classics Alwoodley and Moortown. Apart from being located next to each other, they also share course designer, Dr Alasdair Mckenzie. You might have heard of his more famous designs Augusta and Cypress Point; the 13th at Augusta is actually a copy of Alwoodleys 10th hole. Slightly North East you’ll find Ganton, a delightful Links / Heathland hybrid which has hosted The Ryder Cup and Walker Cup. Speaking of The Ryder Cup, The Belfry has hosted 4 of them, more than any other course in the world. If you’re travelling between the North West and London, stopping at one of these courses is a great way of breaking up your journey on your England golf tour.
