Situated where the River Ugie meets the North Sea, the club features two courses: the 18-hole Craigewan Links and the 9-hole New Course.
The Craigewan Links, originally a 9-hole course designed by two-time Open Champion Willie Park Jr. in 1892, was expanded to 18 holes in 1908 by Archie Simpson. This par-70 layout spans approximately 6,318 yards and is renowned for its natural dunes, revetted bunkers, and the ever-present challenge of coastal winds. The course begins with a memorable tee shot over the River Ugie, setting the tone for a round that demands strategic play and resilience.
The New Course, introduced in 1923, now exists as a 9-hole course, offering a shorter yet enjoyable golfing experience.
Peterhead Golf Club’s rich history includes unique traditions, such as the annual presentation of the Gold Medal dating back to 1841. The club’s facilities encompass a fully stocked pro shop, practice areas, and a welcoming clubhouse, ensuring a comprehensive experience for members and visitors alike.
