Waterville Golf Links

South West Ireland

Waterville Golf Links, located on the Ring of Kerry in Ireland, is one of the country’s most famous and scenic golf courses.

A true gem in the world of golf, the course is known for its beautiful, rugged landscape and its challenging design, offering a mix of traditional links and modern course features.

Set along the Atlantic Ocean, Waterville boasts stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the wild coastline. The 18-hole, par-72 course, designed by the legendary Eddie Hackett and later modified by the great Tom Fazio, weaves through sand dunes and coastal terrain, with tricky winds that keep golfers on their toes. One of the most interesting features of the course is the par 3 12th hole “Mass” which has you hitting to a green perched above a huge swell in the ground. This big dip you hit over was used by locals during British rule when practising Catholicism was banned to secretly and safely celebrate Mass and Baptisms!

Waterville is also one of Tiger Woods’ favourite links courses, having visited and stayed at Waterville on many occasions; if it’s good enough for Tiger then it’s good enough for us!
