Lahinch Golf Club

South West Ireland

Nestled along Ireland's rugged west coast in County Clare, Lahinch Golf Club is a golfer's paradise renowned for its classic links-style courses and rich history. Established in 1892, the club boasts two primary courses: the Old Course and the Castle Course.

The Old Course is celebrated for its natural terrain, featuring undulating fairways and towering sand dunes. Designed by legendary architects Old Tom Morris and later refined by Dr. Alister MacKenzie, the course offers a unique blend of traditional design and strategic complexity. One of its most iconic holes is the par-3 5th, known as “The Dell,” where golfers face a blind shot over a grassy hill to a hidden green, adding an element of mystery and excitement to the round.

Beyond its challenging layout, Lahinch is famous for its resident goat herd, which roams freely across the course. These unofficial mascots are believed to predict the weather: if they’re sheltering near the clubhouse, it’s wise to prepare for rain!

In 2019, Lahinch proudly hosted the Dubai Duty-Free Irish Open, showcasing its world-class facilities and breath-taking coastal scenery to a global audience. With plans underway for a £5 million clubhouse renovation ahead of the 2026 Walker Cup, Lahinch Golf Club continues to blend tradition with modernity, offering an unforgettable experience for golfers from around the world
