In anticipation of hosting The Open Championship, Mackenzie & Ebert meticulously reimagined the Dunluce Links, introducing two entirely new holes—the par-5 seventh, “Curran Point,” and the par-4 eighth, “Dunluce.” These additions, carved into the undulating coastal terrain, not only amplify the course’s strategic complexity but also offer golfers panoramic vistas of the North Atlantic, enriching the sensory experience. Complementing these changes, several greens were subtly reshaped, and new bunkering schemes were implemented, enhancing both the aesthetic appeal and tactical demands of the course.

Spanning 7,344 yards from the championship tees, the Dunluce Links demands precision and strategic acumen. Signature holes, such as the breathtaking par-4 fifth, “White Rocks,” which doglegs towards the sea, and the infamous par-3 sixteenth, “Calamity Corner,” with its daunting carry over a yawning chasm, epitomize the exhilarating challenges that await.

The second course at Royal Portrush, Valley Links, has also recently undergone a significant redesign by Mackenzie & Ebert, making this a true championship 36 hole venue.
