County Louth Golf Club

Dublin

County Louth Golf Club, affectionately known as Baltray, is a distinguished links course situated in the picturesque village of Baltray, slightly north of Dublin.

Its location makes it perfect for golfers flying into Dublin to play on their way up to Northern Ireland.

Established in 1892, the course underwent significant redesigns in 1938 by the esteemed architect Tom Simpson, resulting in the championship layout recognized today. The 18-hole, par-72 course stretches over 7,031 yards, providing a fair yet demanding test for golfers of all levels. Its design incorporates deep pot bunkers, undulating fairways, and greens that ebb and flow like the nearby sea, ensuring a memorable golfing experience.

County Louth has earned its reputation as a premier golfing destination by hosting the Irish Open in both 2004 and 2009.Notably, the 2009 tournament etched its place in history when amateur golfer Shane Lowry clinched the title—a victory that propelled him to international acclaim and later contributed to his 2019 Open Championship win.
