Established in 1900, the club features two exceptional heathland courses—the Old Course and the New Course—both ranked in the world top100 and both designed by esteemed architects Willie Park Jr. and Harry Colt, respectively.
The Old Course is renowned for its classic design, featuring a par-70 layout that stretches over 6,300 yards. The course winds through undulating heather and pine, offering a serene and challenging experience. Notable for its strategic placement of cross bunkers, ditches, and heather banks, the Old Course demands precision and thoughtful shot-making. The large, undulating greens, utilizing the natural topography, often catch golfers by surprise.
The New Course presents a more brutal challenge, with narrow, winding fairways bordered by penal heather, leading to small, often raised greens. This par-70 course will test every club in your bag and every element of your game in one of the most tranquil settings in world golf.
Sunningdale Golf Club has a rich history of hosting esteemed tournaments. The club has welcomed events such as the British Masters, the European Open, The Seve Trophy, and The Walker Cup in 1987. In 2023, the New Course hosted The Brabazon Trophy, and in 2024, the Old Course was the venue for The Curtis Cup, featuring teams from the United States and Great Britain & Ireland.
